How did Oh Lovely Day begin?   My love for weddings, details, and DIY evolved into a passion while planning my own wedding. During my planning I found lots of wedding inspiration, but it was all about other people’s weddings, not about making my wedding my own personal style. I started Oh Lovely Day to fill that gap and to help brides create a wedding that is unique, personal, and all their own. A wedding should be about the couple getting married.  And the design, decor, and style of the wedding should reflect who you are.  Aside from the L-O-V-E, it is the little things, the lovely details and cohesive ideas, that make a wedding special. Today’s brides are looking for vintage, chic, stylish, homemade, handmade, and DIY inspiration to make theirwedding THEM.

A small town Ohio upbringing, law school in Chicago, following the boy I love to LA…that is just a snippet of what led me where I am today.  I can’t get through the morning without coffee in a pretty mug, I can find four-leaf clovers on demand, and I have a massive collection of mason jars (they remind me of home). I love dark chocolate, Ryan Gosling (after my husband Jonathan, of course!), and am absolutely obsessed with my  son, Charlie. 

I’m based in Los Angeles, but feature lovely weddings from all over the world.  Oh Lovely Day’s DIY tips were published on MSN’s wedding homepage, has been published on Huffington Post Weddings, we were voted the Best DIY Wedding Blog on One Wed, and was among BrideTide’s Top 100 Wedding Blogs for the last several years.  I’m also one half of Gilded Vintage + Custom Rentals, here to help Southern California couples achieve their vintage wedding vision with vintage rentals, custom DIY projects, and spectacular styling.

Tell me about the selection process of your Lovely Vendor Guide. 

The goal of the Lovely Vendor Guide is to help every bride and groom, no matter your location or budget, find the vendors and inspiration you need to help make your wedding YOU.  I have personally reviewed all of our Lovely Vendors to ensure that they are someone you can trust to help you through the wedding process.  All of our Lovely Vendors have an aesthetic and quality that matches the content and philosophy of Oh Lovely Day.  They are the vendors that I would choose (or in some cases HAVE chosen) for my own wedding, and those that you see every day here on Oh Lovely Day.  I only select a limited number of Lovely Vendors for each section of the Guide from each geographical location.  I do this so that you can choose from those vendors that I believe are the most talented vendors out there and the ones you would like to hire, for all budgets!
