Pastel Bohemian Spring Wedding Inspiration

Pastel Bohemian Spring Wedding Inspiration from Reverie Supply & Beijois Events | Oh Lovely Day

I’m walking around in a dreamy pastel fog because I can’t stop looking at the stunning images from today’s featured shoot from Beijos Events & Reverie Supply. It is a spring bohemian dream and I just want to live in it forever. It doesn’t hurt that the couple is very easy on the eyes (and are soon to be married in real life!) If you’re planning a wedding in So Cal, take note of these talented vendors — a couple are even members of the Lovely Vendor Guide (and I wish they all were!) Every detail is styled to perfection, the florals are just beyond, and the paper goods are gorgeous. And I’m dying over the cake, which matches those marbled floral containers perfectly. I could go on and on, but why don’t I just show you the fabulousness instead? (more…)

Floral Centerpiece Ideas for Spring

spring wedding centerpiece idea

Spring is (almost) officially here, which means Spring wedding season is upon us.  If you are still finalizing your florals or planning a wedding for next Spring, I’m sharing some pretty centerpiece ideas for your Spring wedding.

{Vibrant Peaches & Pinks}

What says ‘Spring’ more than brightl colors?  The incorporation of peonies and peaches in your centerpieces are perfect for your Spring wedding.  The sherbert colors are fresh, warm, and fun.

{Yellow & Green}

Don’t daffodils just announce spring when they start popping up?  When I was a little girl, my favorite thing about spring was when our hillside turned yellow with daffodils and I would pick bouquets everyday.  This mix of daffodils, tulips, snowdrops, and ranuculus make the perfect spring table.

{Pretty White Tulips}

The flower that most symbolizes Spring for me is the tulip.  Make them even lovelier by grouping a large group of white tulips together.  I also love large groupings of white hydrangea (another great bloom that shows up in Spring).

{Soft Pastel Spring Florals}

If brights or whites aren’t your thing, these muted pastel florals also make lovely Spring centerpieces.  Need more pastel wedding inspiration?  Check out this pastel palette inspiration. And did you know you can search by color and season on Oh Lovely Day?  Yep! Just hover over ‘Inspiration’ in the navigation menu and a drop down menu will appear for color, style, and season.

What is your favorite Spring centerpiece style?  Remember to keep your florals in season to ensure you will have them for available for your wedding and to keep them more budget-friendly. You can find a handy cheat sheet for what florals are in season when here.  And be sure to follow our Lovely Florals board on Pinterest for lots more inspiration.

{Real Wedding} Becca & Ben: Backyard-Chic Wedding With Sweet Details

Happy first week of October and happy wedding week on Oh Lovely Day!  That’s right, this week is all real weddings, all week long.  I’ve got some beauties lined up, and quite a variety too so be sure to come back for lots of inspiration.  Today’s wedding is a sweet backyard wedding at the groom’s childhood home.  I just love weddings at home – makes me think of ‘Father of the Bride’ (and who doesn’t love FOTB!?)

{Describe your Wedding Style}
My husband’s parents have an amazing backyard, so they were gracious enough to let us use their house as the venue for both our ceremony and reception.  The goal of the look for the day was “backyard chic.”  His parents worked hard on the yard, and made a custom stone patio and pergola for us to get married under.  We tried only to enhance the beauty of the yard by using pale peach, ivory, and green flowers, mason jars, lanterns, and an antique stained glass window.backyard wedding with handmade details | photos by jen yuson

For our party favors we did a candy bar, and we had a stamp made with a “b+b” logo and stamped a bunch of white paper lunch bags that people could fill up with old fashioned candy.  We filled a galvanized pot with these bags and hung it on a tree next to the candy bar. backyard wedding with handmade details | photos by jen yuson
{Advice to planning couples}
Realize that this is a day to celebrate what you already have and what you will be in your life together.
{What made your wedding YOU?}
I have two children from a previous relationship and was very blessed to meet my now-husband while they were both very young.  Our dating relationship was not just about the two of us getting to know one another, but of our family coming together.  We really wanted our wedding day to be an outward statement and celebration of what we already felt for each other–a commitment to each other and to our two children.  For this reason, the whole spirit of our wedding was family, friends, and celebration.

Don’t you love what a family affair this wedding was?  And because the bride used to be a wedding planner, she also had lots of friends as her vendors!  Lucky girl.
{Vendors} Cake: Jenny Harris Custom Cake Design (Jenny is an old friend of mine from high school and college, and an AMAZING cake artist.) / Flowers: Micheal Allred (Micheal is too an old friend from college who now currently resides in Asheville, NC.  She took my vision for the wedding and made it happen!) / Photography: Jen Yuson (Jen did my husband’s sister’s wedding and was such a pleasure to have with us on our wedding day.  I cannot express how over-the-moon I was when I saw the pictures of our day.  She took the theme of our wedding and captured moments and personalities that I didn’t expect.  She was just perfect.) / Wedding Coordinator:  Susan Page (Susan is another high school/college friend with whom I used to direct weddings.  She kept us sane and on schedule, and made sure all of my vendors had what they needed.  I couldn’t have done the day without her.) / Caterer: Johnny Bakatsias (Burlington, NC) / Bride & Flower Girl Dresses:  J. Crew / Accessories: Sash & hair flowers for bride & bridesmaids: DinkybirdBoutique on Etsy / Hair and makeup:  My sister-in-law, Erin Kraftchick
