We all have a favorite flower or dream of what kind of flowers we want to have in our wedding, but then we realize those peonies we want are not available for our fall wedding or that dahlias aren’t available in the spring.

If you have your heart set on one particular type of flower, then you need to choose a wedding date when that flower is in season.  Likewise, if you have already picked a date, look for florals that are seasonal to that date.  Sometimes choosing out-of-season florals makes them impossible to get, or very expensive if you do.

Look at all of those options!  There are probably flowers that you never knew about, and that you could fall in love with.  Some of my favorites of the lesser known florals are air plants, astilbe, balsa wood, cabbage roses, craspedia (billy buttons) dahlias, dusty miller, protea, succulents, and there are so many more!  Follow along my floral pinterest boards for lots of floral inspiration: Lovely Florals, Beautiful Bouquets, and Bouts.  Better yet, just follow all of my pins for all types of wedding inspiration!
