Happy St. Patty’s Day everyone! St. Patrick’s Day used to mean green beer, parades, crowded bars and Irish music, and these days I’m lucky if we wear green. But I have wonderful memories of St. Patty’s days gone by. Hope you are having some Irish fun today! We’ve been busy around here and I missed the weekly wrap up from last week, so this week I’m sharing our posts from the last two weeks and my favorite instagrams, plus a peek into our Ojai getaway from last weekend.
Spring (almost summer) has arrived in LA. We’re celebrating by having even more outdoor fun, eating fresh blood oranges, and getting out to the Farmer’s Market. I also scored some pretties to add to Gilded Rentals’ inventory and tickets to see JT & Jay-Z this summer (so pumped about this!). Charlie’s highlights of the week were scoring a goal on an Olympian and feeding a baby goat.
We were lucky enough to get to visit Ojai last weekend, which is one of my favorite places on Earth. I swear, if my husband ever makes it big as an actor and we can move outside of the city, I will be on a pretty ranch in Ojai in no time! Until then, we stay at the breathtaking and relaxing Ojai Valley Inn. I cannot recommend this place enough. Although it can be pricey, you can often find great deals offered through the inn (right now they are offering 30% off!) or on places like LivingSocial. It is definitely worth it. The grounds are amazing: lavender everywhere, a gorgeous golf course, bike rentals. The staff could not be friendlier or more helpful. The spa is fantastic. And we always have dinner at the Maravilla. We also love to go into town, stock up on fresh Ojai pixies and blood oranges at the Sunday Farmer’s Market, and never miss having lunch at Boccali’s in Ojai. The pizza and strawberry shortcake are ridiculously yum. Another favorite spot – Bart’s Books, where my husband could spend hours reading books and I always find some great paperbacks dirt cheap. It’s also the coolest bookstore you’ll ever see.
If you missed any posts from the past couple weeks, here’s your wrap-up:
