{Real Wedding} Lauren & James: Minimalist DIY Vintage Wedding

By Chandra Fredrick | Oct 19

This is one of those weddings where you can tell the couple infused their personalities into every detail, even though you don’t know them personally.  It is vintage and DIY done minimalist rather than stuffy and overdone.  And it is full of inspiration.  Oh, and there’s a fun photobooth too!  I love me a good photobooth…

    From the bride:
Everything we chose and did was very personal to us, and I tried to have it come across. Even down to our decorations – a lot of our centerpieces I pulled right out of our home decor! When I first started planning the wedding, I was looking around at venues and saw how many of them made you choose packages with catering, decor and photography included…and none of it was what I envisioned in my mind. It seems like there’s this weird aspect of the wedding business where a lot of it hasn’t changed in decades, and brides (and grooms) are forced to go with boring and outdated choices…I think finally it’s starting to change with a lot of the budget and DIY-weddings, and all of the blogs though.

Vendors: Photographer:  Loving Legacy Photography (via Two Bright Lights) / Caterer:  Big Wheel Provisions / Event Planner: City of Rockledge / Musicians:  The Bucketeers / Reception Venue:  Rockledge Municipal Building / Invitation Designer:  Hatch Show Print / Cake Designer:  Something Sweet Cake Studio / Heirlooms & extras:  Florabond,ThaiElephant / Ceremony Location:  Historic St. Mary’s Church / Veils and headpieces:  whichgoose

What a great wedding. You had me hooked when you said the bride wore her glasses :) Loving all the stamping – the stamped food signs, favor bags, escort tags… it’s all so lovely.

So many charming details to love! Great centerpieces, how cool that they incorporated the couples’ home decor.
