{Inspiration Board} All that Glitters is Gold

By Chandra Fredrick | Oct 10

I’ve had this board waiting in the wings for a little while, and I thought you might need a little sparkle on this Monday morning.  I love doing shades of gold in layered glittery textures for a holiday table, winter wedding, or a New Year’s fete.

    {palette} shades of glittery gold
{inspiration} perfect for your New Year’s Eve or winter wedding.  Who wants their wedding to look like Christmas exploded all over it?  Unless you really REALLY love Christmas, probably no one. Want a chic way to make your holiday decor, table, or wedding gorgeous and unique?  Use lots and lots of layered glittery gold goodness.  Or do an all winter white palette with hints and touches of gold, like those glittery shoes or that gold sequin bolero.  When you use this warm color, you don’t need any others.  Although the gold pairs well with blush pink or mint green, or even a periwinkle or lavender, it is perfect all on its own!
What do you think of this board?  Do you love glittery gold as much as I do?
{sources, clockwise} cake, shoes, bolero, bouquet, table, gown, cake, necklaces, ballroom

I love things that sparkle! Especially on a Monday! The two cakes are amazing (especially the bottom one) and the bolero, I want that for everyday!

I adore gold any day… but if it takes throwing a New Year’s party to get everyone to partake, well, so be it ;)

Stunning board, not too overdone. Love it. I am seriously adoring the “single bloom” thing going on there, although it isn’t. What a nifty “bouquet”! It’s whimsy like that that really makes the look, no?

    • @laurenconrad_com started following me on Instagram. Week = made. Because you know I love me some @laurenconrad!Using this to get that at @jcrew. (plus the pineapple tee is on sale!)Swooning over todays vintage-inspired DIY affair filled with personal touches (like home grown succulents in the bridal bouquet) on the blog today. And the brides name is Chandra too! Photo by Vihn Ngyuen Photography. (Link on profile)The un-tarnished finished product. They arent perfect but do look way better. Thanks @ms_living for the tip!Snagged a bunch of pretty vintage flatware for @gildedrentals inventory but it was badly tarnished. According to evil genius (and I mean that in the most loving & admiring way!) @ms_living heres how to remove it naturally: place sterling or plated silver in an aluminum (must be aluminum!) pan and put the pan in your sink. Sprinkle 1/2 to 1 cup of baking soda over silverware. Then pour enough boiling water over this to cover utensils. When the tarnish disappears, remove silverware and buff with a soft cloth. Thanks Martha! Some days being the mom of a toddler is so challenging. Today was one of those days. What doesnt make him cry today? The judgmental looks from strangers, the feeling that nothing I do is good enough, and the total frustration and exhaustion on both our ends is getting to me today. But then I finally get him down for a nap, something Ive been looking forward to all day, and I hear him sing Twinkle Twinkle to himself over the monitor, and my heart melts. Then I feel guilty for getting so frustrated. @laraacasey inspired me today to be honest about how hard being a mom is - and how not everyone can do it so effortlessly all the time. This is my truth today.
