{Guest Post} baci designer stationery: From Inspiration to Invitation

By Chandra Fredrick | Jul 7
Hi!  Amanda from baci designer stationery + events here!  A huge thank you to Chandra for having me – it’s always so much fun to share beautiful things with beautiful people :o )

At baci we specialize in custom wedding stationery, event design and planning.  We have a blog about all the wonderful things in weddings, fashion and food; I also write as a Wedding Ace for WeddingWire.  During all of that craziness, one of my favorite things is creating inspiration boards – I LOVE scouring the internet for that perfect photo and seeing it all come together at the end.  What I love even more is when I get to create inspiration boards for my clients, not just for pretend ;o)  At the beginning of my process with each client, whether it be stationery design, event planning or both, I ask my clients to send me photos of the venue, the dress, the flowers and pretty much anything they love and are inspired by when planning their wedding.  And that’s how gorgeousness is born!!

I created the inspiration board above for clients, and dear friends, Sam and Lexy.  I remember about a month after they got engaged, Lexy came to me with a turquoise eyeshadow compact, a gold bracelet and a peony colored scarf squealing, “These are going to be my wedding colors!!!!”  They started planning a destination wedding in the Bahamas and it was like heaven to my design heart – I couldn’t wait to get started.  And start we did, with the inspiration board – soft and breezy with just a touch of sexy.
All of those lovely ideas slowly turned into real details and Sam and Lexy’s invitation suite was complete, perfectly complimenting our original inspiration in both color and feeling!

I began by designing the Islands of the Bahamas, which were embossed onto the top of the thermography printed wedding invitation.  We chose a thick, natural white linen stock and added pops of color with the metallic turquoise belly band, complete with guests’ names, and a shiny bright pink outer envelope.  I kept the design for both the invitation and information card light and airy to match the feeling Sam and Lexy’s guests would have while at the beach wedding.  An invitation is such an important start to making your guests see what they’ll experience on your wedding day!

I finished off the suite with the island design printed on the outer envelope next to the guests’ name and address.  Finished off with pretty postage, the invitation suite was complete!

A big thank you to Amanda for sharing this inspiration to invitation post!  I love seeing your inspiration board transformed.  I’d like to thank all of my guest posts from this week.  Chrissy, Chris, Kristi, Jacin, and Amanda:  It has been an honor and pleasure having you!  See you Monday everyone.  xx

I love the wedding dress and how well the bridesmaid dress matches the bridal gown. What a great idea to have the invitations showing the Bahamas.
