I’ve gotten tons of questions about our Nugget since it joined our family in the fall and while I try to respond to each one, I thought a second post with a Nugget update was in order. And while I’m at it, I’m going to answer a few of our most frequently asked questions about ours.
If you follow me on Instagram, you’ve definitely seen our Nugget in action with my kiddos (just watch my IG stories and you’ll probably catch them on it). My kids are known to read on it one minute and then drag it into different formations to play. They create castles, perform puppet shows, and build jump ramps, tunnels and slides. It gives them a place to play and focus their energy indoors, which is a lifesaver when the weather doesn’t allow for outdoor play. And as a mom of three little boys, I can’t tell you how much this has saved my sanity! My boys no longer destroy my white sofa. They don’t rough house in the living room. They aren’t bouncing off the walls. And they haven’t been bored, because there is always a new idea or creation we can make with our Nugget. If you missed the first post I shared before Christmas, you can find it here.
The first big update on our Nugget is that we added another one to our family! Because one is nice but two is even better 🙂 We added Koala (the prettiest grey) and it has only added to our Nugget adventures. Bigger forts, longer tunnels, higher slides. And more lounge space when we’re chilling. They also make great beds for overnight guests or sleepovers and transport so easily that we move them all over the house.
Here are some frequently asked questions and answers that I get about our Nugget.
Q. Has the novelty worn off or do your kids really play with this all the time?
A. They really play with it all the time! Especially for the last 5 months that our weather has been terrible and we can barely get outside. I seriously don’t think we would have survived our first Ohio winter without our Nugget. It is been a lifesaver. And I have had probably at least 25 readers/followers contact me and tell me they bought the Nugget (it was a popular Christmas gift this year!) and how much their kids love it too. So no, the novelty has definitely not worn off and I don’t think it ever will.
Q. Has it held up to rough play and three boys?
A. Shockingly, it looks brand new still! My family really could be quality control testers of any toy on the market, and most would be destroyed within a week (I’m not kidding — my boys can even destroy a Brudder truck, and those are supposed to withstand a lot of abuse). But our Nugget retains its shape, doesn’t look any different from the day it arrived.
Q. Does it wash well?
A. I can’t answer this from personal experience because — wait for it — I haven’t needed to wash it yet! I know, I can’t believe it either. But it is true. I’ve spot cleaned little bits here and there but otherwise we just haven’t needed to wash it yet. Full disclosure: I have a firm ‘no snacks, food, or drinks besides water’ policy in any room but our kitchen or dining area. So that’s probably partially why there haven’t been spills and messes on it. But I have heard from others that it cleans really well and spot cleaning worked great for me so far. The covers do unzip so that you can throw them in the wash, but I would do so on a gentle/cold cycle.
Q. Is it worth the price?
Can you put a price on something that keeps your kids happy, entertained, and gets their energy out? Add to it the fact that is a piece of kid-friendly furniture that functions as a comfy place to sit, cuddle, or sleep. Yeah, it’s definitely worth it (I think they could charge more to be honest!)
So I guess the biggest update is: we’re still obsessed! If you have any Nugget questions, feel free to ask below and I’ll do my best to answer. Also, follow them on Instagram for lots of Nugget inspiration, info, and release announcements (these babies sell out fast).
Have you gotten a Nugget yet? Do you love it as much as we do?

We have had a nugget since last fall and we are still using it constantly. The most frequent configuration, besides normal couch shape, is as an American Ninja Warrior course for our 3 year old daughter.
Love that!
Would you recommend them as everyday beds? I’m trying to minimize things and was wondering if this would work as a daily duo. Pack up bedding and sheets would be a pain but worth not having to find a spot to store this.
We just got one and it might be ok for kids. I don’t think it is long enough or would work for many adults long term. It is super comfy and fun though. For sleep overs etc, it should be great. The thicker mat is more firm. The thinner one is softer, so there are options. My daughter ha already spent over two hurt playing on it today alone. I’m glad I got it.
I don’t think I’d use it as a bed for every day, but we use it when cousins sleep over or put it in our bedroom when one of the kids is sick and needs to sleep with us. They think it’s really comfy but I’m not sure it will be supportive for long term daily use. We use it as a “couch” rather than putting it away.
Hello! We have three boys too and are debating about purchasing one or two nuggets. What made you decide to get the second? Thanks!
One worked great! But two works even better for bigger builds and we keep one in the basement and one upstairs in their reading nook.
These look amazing! I’m thinking about getting two and stacking them together so they might look almost as large as a traditional couch at first glance. Have you done that? How does it look??? Thanks! ❤️
These pictures made me chuckle! My only baby (31 yr lawyer now) used to build forts inside and outside the house for hours. Later, Lego building. I love the name of your site!
