Spring is finally here, which means swimsuit season is just around the corner and if you’re like me you dread it. Every year since giving birth. In fact, I don’t think I’ve worn a bathing suit since Quincy was born, which when you think about it is completely ridiculous. Like why would I let my insecurities stop me from having fun with my family? All because I feel uncomfortable in a swimsuit or with my current body. This year of self-renewal has given me a newfound appreciation for my body and all that it has done and can do. I’m about 30 lbs heavier and 4 sizes bigger than I have been in my life. My body doesn’t feel like it belongs to me. But you know what? It has done some pretty amazing things and given me some pretty amazing gifts. It is the space where my soul dwells and is the body my children hug. It is the home and safe place for myself and my kids. And it is what it is and just because it is curvier or fuller than my normal, doesn’t mean it isn’t beautiful and doesn’t deserve appreciation. So this summer I refuse to hide and not wear a swimsuit. I am going to stock my wardrobe with a few options that are cute and flattering and make me feel sexy but that are also something I can play and be active in. So I in my search for a cute “mom-friendly” swimsuit I thought I would save some of my favorites to share here with you as well. In case you’re fed up with hiding your mom bod (size 0, 6, 12, 16 or whatever it may be) because of stretch marks, deflated boobs, extra weight, or that postpartum tummy. Embrace it. Wear it like a badge of honor. My body has grown and given life to three beautiful boys and fought and survived Hashimoto’s and hypothyroidism. My body is amazing.
So who’s in to wear a swimsuit this summer? If you see me at the pool or beach, let’s high five 🙂 If you’re still looking for a super cute suit, here are some of my faves below, and you can click on it directly to buy!

Heck girl I still rock a bikini and if someone doesn’t like what I look like in it, screw them!! I’m very fluffy but I love to eat and drink. You’re beautiful, always have been! Extra lbs don’t change that. I learned to stop comparing myself to old pics bc I’m older and my body has changed( hormones and no metabolism thanks!) but I’m still me on the inside and even with extra weight I still love being at the pool and beach with family and friends. Swimsuits for all is it go to shop for swimsuits!
Thanks Amy! And yes, agreed! xx
So I have the Old Navy one (black with flower print) but I did plain black high wasted bottoms bc this is my first pair and I’m trying to ease myself into that style. I like it on everyone I see but you know…critical on myself! (Working on it! 😉 BUT I love love love the top. It fits like a t-shirt shelf bra (comfy!!!) but definitely has enough coverage/support (I have droopy double Ds, I nursing 3 babes too!) I have already worn it twice (I live in FL) and I give it a thumbs up for chasing kiddos on beach. I’m considering getting in other colors bc price point is so good! But now you given me a few more I think I want to try!
I got the gingham bottoms and the striped b+w ones with solid color tops. I have the same style top from Target a few years ago that I wore with my last two pregnancies but haven’t worn a bikini when I wasn’t pregnant for years!
