Today’s wedding is infused with so much personality and love that it is sure to inspire you to be a DIY bride too. Chelsea got creative in making her sure their wedding reflected who they are as a couple, and did it in ways to keep costs down. And she kept it all cohesive, which is so important when you a lot of DIY projects.
Best piece of advice? Whenever the planning becomes not fun, take a break and go on a date where you promise not to talk about anything wedding related.
How did Chelsea keep her wedding budget-friendly? Be creative! Look outside of typical “wedding” resources. I found that if there was anything advertised as “wedding” related, it typically meant expensive. Thrift! Utilize the people around you and their talents.
Basically our wedding was an expression of what our future home together would be. We love inviting people into it, to relax and enjoy themselves and that’s what our day was about. We wanted it to reflect our personalities, our faith, and our love. Through the antiques and special touches, our home was transported to Northfield, MN to welcome our guests in. Anybody could tell you right when they arrived whose wedding this was and that was a beautiful thing.
I really love that you feel like you know this couple by seeing their wedding – it’s totally a sign that you made it YOU. And the color palette and rustic touches make it feel so homey and fun – like a big family picnic wedding!
