It’s officially fall! And even though it still doesn’t feel like it here (did anyone watch the Emmy’s last night and see how hot it was for everyone?) I’m determined to get into the fall spirit, and this rustic ranch wedding is just the thing to start of this fall week!

We used dozens of old lace or embroidered table clothes that our grandmothers or aunts have had, to cover the hay bales that our guests sat on during the ceremony. It was a great way to include our extended family in our day.

{Advice for planning couples}
Plan well ahead of time. It was important for my husband and I to really enjoy each aspect of our wedding day and we planned out how to do that with our talented photographer and our amazing wedding coordinator.

Any special traditions?
My garter was a garter that is being passed down to every new bride in my husband’s family. It was originally my husband’s cousin’s garter, she passed it along to me and I will pass it on to the next bride. We have a box that each bride signs with her maiden name, wedding date and her new husband’s name.

To make my wedding me, I stuck to my initial idea of how I envisioned my day and really ran with that. I wanted my day to have meaning to not only for me but for my guests too so that was all in the little details.
I’m a big fan of the hay-bale seating in the round for the ceremony. And the florals are perfection, don’t you think? So many lovely details in this wedding! Did it get you in the mood for fall?
Oh, and I just found out today that it is this couple’s one year wedding anniversary! How crazy is it that I randomly featured their wedding on their anniversary without even knowing!? Wish them a happy day!

I loved working with Melissa & Bryan and their amazing team! Always love when a Bride wants so much color in her florals – it was a perfect day for a gorgeous couple and I was so proud to be a part of it. Thank you for the post!!!

We had so much fun…I want to do it again. Loved seeing my amazingly beautiful daughter and son in law get married. All the details were perfect. Thank you Danny, Hallie, Amy and everyone who made this the most PERFECT day. Marie
I am planning on doing this same ceremony set up with the hay bails, I was wondering how the set up of bridesmaids and groomsmen was during the ceremony?
Hi Abby. This wasn’t my wedding, I only featured it and it was unfortunately years ago. I would suggest having your bridal party sit on the bales behind the altar set up and keep your maid of honor and best man standing next to you. And you might want to keep your bridal party on the smaller side if you are doing it this way to make it easier. Good luck!
