This couple took the hands-on and handmade approach to their wedding.  After a traditional Greek Orthodox ceremony, they had a rustic reception in a barn on an orchard.  There are so many lovely DIY details and great rustic eye candy.  Also, I LOVE that this bride wore her glasses.  I’m seeing more and more brides doing that lately and I think it is a sign that more brides are being themselves on their wedding days!

From Stella, the bride:  
The place cards and table numbers, the bridal flats, the guestbook, and the flower in the my hair were all from Etsy.  Seedling favors wrapped in burlap doubled as our place cards.  Fresh flowers, vases, lanterns, twigs and candles for the centerpieces were all found on wholesaler sites and were lovingly assembled by my mother and friends. The dress was made by my 83 year old grandmother using silk she had been saving for over 30 years. We purchased the lace overlay together, and after deciding on a general shape, she designed the dress. (She also made the mother-of-the-bride’s dress, and her own, for the occasion). Invitations were the work of the my closest friend and were made to have the feel of a vintage poster. Photo booth props were assembled by our creative friends.  The day before the wedding, those same friends were all on site to help string lights and paper lanterns.  Without a doubt, our most cherished elements were the ones created by those dear to us.  Our main goal was to have fun.  Mission accomplished.  With the help of loved ones, we created memories that will last a lifetime and we remain deeply grateful.
